SEOUL FC vs. SEONGNAM
5th May 2010
As an Englishwoman, it’s kind of embarrassing to say that my very first football match was in Korea. But I say to you, do you know how crazy the football fans are in England?! No WAY am I going to a stadium full of nut jobs regardless if it’s a friendly or not. And don’t say local games are better, because the fans are relentless.
Either way, this was my first game and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The atmosphere was GREAT! The fans were supportive, the game was decent. Ok, so I can’t compare it to European football (I don’t know that much, but I have seen a few games and have a younger brother.. make that three younger brothers who love the game) but it was still football and I could see they played with their heart. They celebrated everything with such vigour it was great! After every goal (by Seoul FC) there were fireworks and the crowd chanted the name of the player who scored! It was fun.
The ticket was 10,000 and totally worth every won!
